How to Register To Vote In Michigan State
As a resident of Michigan state, you can register to vote for the 60th US presidential election (to be held on Nov 5th, 2024) using the following steps:

Confirm Your Voter Eligibility
To register you must meet the following criteria:
- be a US Citizen (including those born in Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands)
- be 18 years old by the next election
- be a resident of Michigan and at least a 30 day resident of your city or township by election day
- not be confined in a jail after being convicted and sentenced
Online Registration
To register online you need:
- Michigan driver's license or state ID card
- The last 4 digits of your SSN

Mail-in Registration

- Print out the form (pages 4 and 5) and fill it out using our helpful tips below.
- Fill out the form with your personal information.
- #2 Home Address. If a voter possesses a Michigan driver license (DL) or personal ID (PID), Michigan law requires the same address be used for voter registration and DL/PID purposes. Use of this form will also change your DL/PID address. The Secretary of State will mail you a new address sticker for your DL/PID.
- #6 ID Number. Your completed voter registration form must contain your state issued driver's license number or state issued personal identifcation card number. If you do not have a driver's license or state issued personal identifcation card, you must include the last four digits of your social security number. If you do not have a driver's license or a state issued personal identifcation card or a social security number, please write "NONE" on the form. A unique identifying number will be assigned by the State.
- #7 Choice of Party. A "choiceparty" of is not required for voter registration.
- #8 Race or Ethnic Group. Leave Blank.
- #9 Signature Sign and date the application to attest the data you entered is true and that you meet eligibility requirements.
- Mail or deliver this completed application directly to your city or township clerk. Find your city or township clerk's address at https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/Voter/Index/#yourclerk. If you are unable to find your city or township clerk's address mail to the address below. The completed form must be postmarked by October 21st, 2024.
