How to Register To Vote In North Dakota State
Voter registration is not required in North Dakota.
Confirm Your Voter Eligibility
To vote you must meet the following criteria:
- be a US Citizen (including those born in Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands)
- be a resident of North Dakota for at least 30 days immediately before the Election in which you intend to vote
- not be a felon. You lose the right to vote while incarcerated if you are convicted of a felony. If you are on parole, probation, or have fully completed your sentence, you may cast a ballot.
- Have a valid form of identification on you when you go out to vote:
- North Dakota Driver's License
- North Dakota Non-Driver's License
- Tribal ID or Tribal Letter
- Long-Term Care Certificate
