How to Register To Vote In West Virginia State
As a resident of West Virginia state, you can register to vote for the 60th US presidential election (to be held on Nov 5th, 2024) using the following steps:

Confirm Your Voter Eligibility
To register you must meet the following criteria:
- be a US Citizen (including those born in Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands)
- live in West Virginia at your specified address
- be 18 years old, or to vote in the primary be 17 years old and turning 18 before the general election
- not be under conviction, probation, or parole for a felony, treason or election bribery
- not have been judged "mentally incompetent" in a court of competent jurisdiction
Online Registration
To register online you need:
- A valid West Virginia driver's license or ID card.
- The last 4 digits of your SSN.
- A current and valid residential address within the state of West Virginia.
Navigate to West Virginia's online voter registration and complete the form before the Online Registration Deadline: October 15th, 2024
Mail-in Registration
- Download the Federal Voter Registration Form
- Print out the form (pages 4 and 5) and fill it out using our helpful tips below.
- Fill out the form with your personal information.
- #6 ID Number. Enter your driver's license number. If you do not have a driver's license number, enter the last four numbers of your social security number. If you do not have a driver's license number or a social security number, an identifcation number will be assigned to you.
- #7 Choice of Party. You must register with a party if you want to take part in that party's primary election, caucus, or convention (unless you request the ballot of a party which allows independents to vote).
- #8 Race or Ethnic Group. Leave Blank.
- #9 Signature Sign and date the application to attest the data you entered is true and that you meet eligibility requirements.
- Mail the completed form to the following address. The completed form must be received by October 15th, 2024.
