How to Register To Vote In Washington State

As a resident of Washington state, you can register to vote for the 60th US presidential election (to be held on Nov 5th, 2024) using the following steps:

Confirm Your Voter Eligibility

To register you must meet the following criteria:
  • be a US Citizen (including those born in Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands)
  • be a legal resident of Washington State, your county and precinct for 30 days immediately preceding the election in which you want to vote
  • be at least 18 years old by Election Day
  • If you were convicted of a felony in Washington State, another state, or in federal court, your right to vote will be restored automatically as long as you are not currently serving a sentence of total confnement in prison. You may re-register.
  • 16 and 17-year-olds can sign up as Future Voters and be automatically registered to vote when they qualify

Online Registration

To register online you need:
  • a Washington State driver license or ID card.
  • The last 4 digits of your SSN (if you do not have a Washington State driver license or ID card).
  • A current Washington State residential address.
Navigate to Washington's online voter registration and complete the form before the Online Registration Deadline: October 28th, 2024

Mail-in Registration

  1. Download the Federal Voter Registration Form
  2. Print out the form (pages 4 and 5) and fill it out using our helpful tips below.
    • Fill out the form with your personal information.
    • #6 ID Number. You must provide your Washington driver's license or ID card number. If you do not have a Washington driver's license or ID card, you must provide the last four digits of your Social Security Number. Failure to provide this information may prevent your registration from being processed.
    • #7 Choice of Party. You are not required to designate your party affiliation to register in Washington.
    • #8 Race or Ethnic Group. Leave Blank.
    • #9 Signature Sign and date the application to attest the data you entered is true and that you meet eligibility requirements.
  3. Mail the completed form to the following address. The completed form must be received by October 28th, 2024.
